Your child will read their first book fluently.
Your child will learn to read in a nurturing environment that is safe, easy, fun and life’s most exciting game.
We have preschoolers and kindergartners in the program reading on a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, even 5th-grade reading levels.
Small children are like sponges, easily able to absorb tremendous amounts of information. They thirst for knowledge about the world and have a monumental desire to learn. And as we know, 3, 4, 5, and 6-year-olds have lots of energy. At The Dicker Reading Method our early childhood education program, the Pre-K and Kindergarten Head Start Reading Tutoring Program is one of our most popular offerings. Through one-on-one, private, individual tutoring we will teach your preschooler or kindergartener to read, and put them on the path to success. It’s fun, easy, life’s most exciting game, and most importantly, it works! Children in our program are reading in 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and even 5th-grade levels.
When you bring your child to their first session at Dicker Reading, they will be assessed to determine the best place for them to start their reading journey. Some children will start in the Kindergarten program, and others in the Pre-K, depending on how many words they can read, and how much confidence they have. Our assessment will ensure that your child is at a comfortable level, where they can begin to develop the confidence they need to become a strong, fluent reader. In the Pre-K and Kindergarten Head Start Reading Tutoring Program, once your child is reading comfortably, they will begin to make progress at their own pace. As they progress, they will develop a fluent reading style, reading comprehension abilities, and a love of reading that will last their whole life!
Our highly trained reading tutors begin by introducing your child to new vocabulary through our specially designed educational games, in a safe, caring, and nurturing environment. With each new word under their belts, students build their confidence and develop a love for both reading and school.
Imagine your child being totally focused and concentrated as they learn to read 15 to 30 words in their very first session. Some students will even read their first book fluently! At the Dicker Reading Method, your child can get a head start in reading so that when they enter school, they will already be ahead of the game, able to get the most out of elementary school. Students in our Pre-K and Kindergarten Head Start Reading Tutoring program will never learn to hate reading, instead, enjoying their own confidence and skill in reading.
For parents, it can be a great feeling to bring your five-year-old or six-year-old to their first day of elementary school. Many amazing things happen in a child’s first year of real school; your child will begin to learn how to be a student, starting off on a path that will last through college. With the Pre-K and Kindergarten Head Start Reading Tutoring program, you can ensure that your child has a fun, informational journey by ensuring that they have the reading skills they need to take to school for the first time.

“The Dicker Reading Method is exceptional. It works. It makes the inability to read…just another memory.”
“My daughter Rachel, a three and a half-year-old, learned forty words in the first session. After four months in the program, she was reading on a second-grade level, qualified for the Gifted and Talented program for kindergarten in New York City, and scored in the 98th percentile. In the first grade, Rachel was reading at a fourth-grade reading level and developed a love for reading and school. In the second grade, Rachel is reading at a sixth-grade level and is currently finishing the Harry Potter book series.”
"She's now reading books, where she was doing three letter words on flashcards. She's now reading books, and I believe it's a first-grade level book, and she's not even in Kindergarten yet. So the DRM has completely gotten my daughter reading before Kindergarten."
"On the first day of trying this reading program, Lowden read a book. He didn't just read five words, he read an entire book, which made Lowden feel so wonderful, so great, that he could do this, read this whole book. There was no stopping him from there. He just wanted to keep going and going."
