Darius – Former DRM Student, Current Student at RPI, Future Engineer
I just received this in the mail from a parent at the Dicker Reading Method.

Darius of the Bronx, NY , a former student at the Dicker Reading Method, was recently featured on the front page of his local newspaper for his academic accomplishments.

When Darius first came to the Dicker Reading Method when he was in the 7th grade, he had been labeled ADHD and was reading on a 4th grade level.  After 6 months in our program, Darius was reading on a 12th grade level.  Darius, who cites the Dicker Reading Method as the reason for his success, has recently gained admission to 9 of 11 of the nation’s top colleges (Carnegie Mellon, Harvard, MIT, Cornell, Princeton to name a few) and will be attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to pursue a career in engineering.

We wish Darius continued success throughout college and in each of his future endeavors.

Alex of Portchester, NY was in the 1st grade when he came to us.  He knew about 17 words and was so hyperactive that he was taking Ridelin.  In the first session, I cut out the hyperactivity and he shifted internally from “I can’t” to “I can”.  He walked out reading the first pre-primer book of our series fluently.  Less than a year in the program, Alex was reading on a 6th grade level.  Now, Alex is in the 7th grade.  Had Alex not been in the program, his life would have been totally different.  I just heard from his mom that he took the test for Johns Hopkins and scored a 1200 on the SATs.

Meet Our Students: Ryan

Ryan from Mamaroneck, NY, age 7, was labeled with ADHD.  When he first came to us this summer, he knew less than 15 words. We cut out his hyperactivity and withdrawal in the first session and since then, Ryan has thrived.  His mother tells us that it there is no longer a struggle to get him to read.  After 6 months in the program, Ryan is now reading on a third grade level.

Isn’t it amazing what the Dicker Reading Method can do?

Why Dicker Reading Method?

Here’s a list one of our high school students, Jeremy of White Plains, NY who’s been with us for over 4 years, came up with:

Reasons to Choose the Dicker Reading Method (over other tutoring centers)
1.    You can learn and remember 5 words and their definitions in less than one minute.  How many other tutoring centers can teach you 5 words and their meanings that quickly and easily?
2.    You can make 3-6 years of reading improvement in less than a year. Those 5 words per minute learned in each session really do begin to add up…
3.    The Dicker Reading Method makes reading fun!  I never thought I’d say that before, but since I started at the DRM, my grades, test scores, and love for school have sky rocketed!
4.    The Dicker Reading Method worked for me…and it’s safe to say it will work for everyone!
5.    DRM Tutors are great!  They also work closely with my parents, giving them daily progress reports after each session.

Why choose the Dicker Reading Method?  Why not!

A personal note

Every time I encounter a child who is frustrated by their inability to read, I remember why I first created the Dicker Reading Method. No child should have to feel the way I felt at 6 years old: embarrassed and insecure because I couldn’t read at the same level as my peers. It’s incredible how many people out there struggle with similar illiteracy issues.

Learning to read better, faster and with greater comprehension can be a life changing feeling for anyone who lacks confidence in their reading ability. The Dicker Reading Method was created to increase reading skills regardless of the students’ age or ability. We offer programs from pre-school through high school, from learning disabled to gifted, for children and adults. Experience a true reading breakthrough with the Dicker Reading Method!
